The capital city of Gangtok (literally meaning ‘hill side’), is a dream destination for any tourist. MG Marg – This beautiful cobbled street is the pride of Gangtok. It is a no vehicle and litter free zone, and a wonderful way to spend the evening. It is lined with shops and restaurants on both sides and in the middle are benches for visitors to relax and soak in the smells and sounds of the city.
Hanuman Tok – Situated at a height of 7200 feet, this stunning temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, offers a clear view of the peaks surrounding Mount Khangchendzonga.
Namgyal Research Institute of Tibetology – NIT is a prestigious research institute displaying an excellent collection of artifacts and manuscripts associated with Buddhist Culture.
Tsomgo Lake – Situated in the north eastern part of Sikkim, this lake is considered holy by the Sikkimese. Frozen during winter months, this lake is a spectacular sight during summers. The clear tranquil waters with flowers blooming all around make for an incredible view.
